Teacher websites are extremely helpful and useful, and I believe for teachers it should be a requirement. And for students and their parents and guardians, it ought to be an object of upmost importance. A resource that should be readily made available, accessible, and frequently visited. After visiting a few teacher websites, I have seen class lists, a digital syllabus, a link for classroom happenings and events, links for direct teacher contacts, classroom schedules, and other helpful tools and information. https://sites.google.com/dcboe.com/sgiddens
In my career as a teacher, technology will be a major part of classroom environment. I mean, if I'm being honest, it's the way of the world now. It's an intricate part of almost everything that we do. What a better way to embellish and immerse our students with digital tools and modern technology than by introducing it to them while they are growing in school. It adequately prepares our students for the challenges and complexities that they will face. An effective and efficient way to utilize technology in schools is simply by posting homework assignments online. And a software that could be used for this example is a software like Brightspace. Brightspace is one way many teachers can begin to integrate technology in the classroom. Assignments are easily accessible, which can increase student engagement and help students become more organized.
As far as wiki platforms are concerned, my initial experience working on them were pretty solid. I learned a great deal about to how to use these platforms for my benefit and further technological development. PB Works was really cool. Wiki platforms can be utilized for a multiplicity of reasons. I would a wiki like PB works with my students to collaboratively work together for research projects, discussion posts, digital creative workshops, etc. The only thing I didn't like about it was that they never sent my confirmation code to my email address - LOL! Other than that, it was really cool and fairly easy to use.
